Located in a crevice along 12th Street, University Pita has a unique, East meets West Village charm. A tiny nook of a restaurant, University Pita seems the perfect place to grab falafel or shwarma to go. But this restaurant offers more than first meets the eye. A narrow staircase leads to an upstairs eating area with a handful of tables overlooking the street. And luckily for the nearby NYU students, these Israelis know what to do with a falafel ball, guaranteeing a consistently good meal. (Insider's tip: Ask for the student discount...especially if you're a student)

Ate sushi rolls, pizza and fries there. The service was great. Decor alright. For the prices and atmosphere, you can't find a reason to not like this cafe. Might be a mistake that they are not open Saturday nights...but with enough PR this place can really be a big hit. With full pies only being 16$, you can't even get that @ J2 or in Brooklyn.
