Koshertopia has learned that a new concept in kosher dining is making its way to Teaneck. Scheduled to open in late January on the ever popular Queen Anne Road, Gotham Burger is touted to be modeled in Danny Meyer’s successful chain ‘Shake Shack’. Offering a range of burgers and other popular items, the restaurant will be supervised by the RCBC.
The once controversial Israeli restaurant Ima has permanently closed its doors on Cedar Lane in Teaneck.
Some things just taste better in Israel – Koshertopia has confirmed that two of the Burgers Bar chains in the US has closed. Burgers Bar located at 1383 Queen Anne Road Teaneck, NJ has closed. We have also confirmed that the sister store on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst (531 Central Ave) has closed.
The original Shalom Bombay is closing its door permanently this coming Sunday. New Jersey residents will have to come over the bridge to enjoy their Indian. Management shared with us that catering in NJ will still be offered via the Manhattan location.
Ima Restaurant located at 445 Cedar Lane in Teaneck has reopened and is Glatt Kosher under the Supervision of the OU (Orthodox Union). First reported by Kosher topialast year, Ima has opened, closed, switched supervision from the RCBC, to the OK and also operated with no supervision. Ima is an Israeli Mediterranean style restaurant with a touch of Jewish-Kurdish cooking.

Just in time for the Pre-Pesach rush, Koshertopia has confirmed that Chaiko Tapas at 515 Cedar Lane is open. Offering a full sushi bar, the Asian and Spanish themed restaurant is under the Supervision of the RCBC.

Manhattan’s well known Japanese restaurant is coming to Teaneck. Estihana, already with a second location in Brooklyn is expanding to Cedar Lane in the space formally occupied by Chan’s, Esme Bistro & Shalom Hunan’s. The Asian fusion restaurant is well known for their Japanese cuisine as well as culinary creations from Malaysia and Vietnam. Koshertopia staff have been told the restaurant should be open for business in two weeks. Stay Tuned for further details.
Israel’s well known restaurant ‘Ima’ is back in our Teaneck listings. Ima Restaurant (455 Cedar Lane, Teneack) is now under the supervison of the OK (Organized Kashrut Laboratories). They are well known in Israel for their open flame grill and Israeli cuisine, hopefully they have brought this skill with them to their Cedar Lane location.
