Another branch of the Hummus Kitchen has opened at 444 3rd Ave. (between 30th & 31st) under the supervision of the International Kosher Council (IKC). Hummus Kitchen specializes in fresh, organic hummus. The menu is simple and folksy with a plethora of healthy options. They get their inspiration from Mediterranean cuisine. Like many of the kosher neighborhood options, they are now offering an expanded lunch buffet.

After sending out our quickbite about Shalom Bombay, we had to go check out the new location knowing the success of the Teaneck location. I work down the block from the new location, and after months navigating the tricky waters of starting a restaurant in NYC, I am really happy to see them finally open. From my first meal there I can say that Shalom Bombay is truly and Indian delight. The restaurant has a very cosy, intimate, yet classy ambiance with a stunning rooftop mural. It certainly looks and feels like you are in upper class Mumbai (I think). As if the decor wasn’t enough, the food was delicious. Classical Indian cuisine tastefully delivered to the table by the excellent and attentive wait staff. Both the chicken and meat dishes I ordered were full of flavor and delightful, and as the New York times said in their review the “Indian breads are fresh, warm and properly blistered”. Koshertopia has confirmed that a new Cholov Yisrael Dairy restaurant, Tiberias, is set to open TODAY under the supervision of the OK. The new restaurant at 45 E. 34th St. is the third kosher establishment on the block between Madison & Park Ave. Nestled between the Eden Wok & Mendy’s Restaurant, Tiberias will offer a wide range of pastas, salads, juice, smoothies and toasts and will be will be open 24 hours (excluding Shabbat).
From zero to two in less than a month! Koshertopia has confirmed that Teaneck’s glatt Kosher Indian, Shalom Bombay is opening in Murray Hill right after Pesach (expected open date is April 11th). The restaurant will be located at 344 Lexington Ave. (corner 39th) supervised under the OU.
