What Koshertopia has to say:
Talia's steakhouse offers you a great new way to order dinner. They offer four "recession-proof" prix-fixe menus that allow you to mix and match your options as you please. If you’re not in the mood for that, they also offer a classic menu (and a great kids menu) for you to choose from. The great ambiance and excellent food assures that you will have a great experience every time.

I needed a break from cooking every night for my husband and four kids and last week I was utterly exhausted and ready to feed them vitamins for dinner. In order to placate me, my husband offered to take us out to dinner (he didn’t really have a choice else he wasn’t going to get much to eat). He’d heard that Talia’s Steakhouse had some recession specials – we are always watching our budget with so many kids and they love burgers. Anyway, so we went there and chose the $14 recession special options. The kids had burgers and chicken wings with fries and onion rings – they loved everything. I had the Caesar wrap which was very good and my husband had the beef kebab. We ordered the mashed potatoes as a side – they were so tasty that I wanted to ask for the chef’s recipe. I like it that Talia’s is a rather upscale restaurant yet is still kid-friendly. It was a wonderful treat for me, never mind for them and I think we will be coming to Talia’s a lot more often if I have anything to say about it!

My boyfriend just threw me the most amazing surprise birthday party at Talia's. What a great time! Everything was set up perfectly, there was an amazing menu especially for my party with everything from steak to salmon. It felt like the place was all set up just for me. Talia's even ordered a special cake for me. The food and full bar were amazing the service was great and the owner even bought our table a round of shots! It was so much fun and I would have to say it was my best Birthday ever. Thanks Talia's!

Talia's has finally started doing happy hour! I have been watching the playoffs with wings and beer all week...2 or 1 draft beer and $6 wings! You won't find a better deal in Manhattan.

On a recent first date, I chose Talia’s because I heard it was a popular restaurant destination for young singles. My date and I had such a phenomenal experience that our date ended up turning into a couple hours…we had excellent chemistry, and the restaurant atmosphere was an excellent backdrop for our budding romance. The flickering candles, the quality Segals kosher wine, the Restaurant décor, and even the modern background music contributed to our experience. The steak and chicken dishes were very tasty and the chocolate soufflé divine…we truly had an out of this world date experience and I am actually ready to propose, and it only seems appropriate to do so back at…the start of it all – Talia’s!

I have been Talia's customer for the last three years. I love Talia's outdoor cafe, the live music, the ambiance - cozy and warm space, the sports bar and of course THE FOOD - always changing the items in the menu which contains very tasty steaks, wraps, burgers, falafel, hummus, beef kabob and others additional very affordable items. The vibe at Talia's is very unique - you can see some satmer guys sitting next to none Jewish tourists, some tables of couples who are dating and some tables with family and kids - all enjoying the food and the live music. On Sunday, Talia's serves mlti cultural brunch - With Live Music - you can choose from either a Middle-Eastern (shakshuka, falafel, hummus ful, etc.) or a Manhattan style (pancakes, french toast, steak and eggs, etc.) meal. We were a table of six watching the the World Cup on two flat screen TV's, and while enjoying the tasty wings, beers, and wraps, fries, falafel, hummus and beef kabob. Another reason why I love Talia's is the fact that Talia's kitchen open till midnight during the week and on Saturday - all night. It is the spot for late dinners. Highly Recommended!

If you're looking for great glatt kosher dining on the Upper West Side, Talia's Steakhouse is hard to beat. It's got a tremendous amount of character and class; the international wine selection is superb; and the steak is some of the best in New York City. The wait staff is especially personable, as is the owner Ephraim, who may engage you in a conversation about the food. I recommend the ribeye (of couse!) and the Yemenite chicken in a pot. Nice outdoor seating, too.

I took my family to Talia's for Seder dinner over Passover, It was unbelievably delicious and fun, not to mention that it made my life so much easier. We all had such a great time. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere perfect. I can say with %100 certainty that this was a first of many. We have started a new tradition at Talia's. I would recommend it to everyone. I don't understand the above review, I can only speak for myself when I say that our experience at Talia's was wonderful. I plan on going to Talia's for years to come!

Having heard some nice things, we were quite surprised at the level (or should I say lack) of service. We have been to most of the Kosher restaurants in the City and to many of them over Passover, and Talia's has the distinction of being the singularly worst in the service department. Taking over an hour and a half to receive any food is simply unacceptable. Being told "two minutes" when inquiring about it, and then waiting yet another half hour, is unacceptable. Being told sarcastically that "everyone else has been waiting an hour and a half also" just reflects appalling customer service. Then for the icing on the cake: simply being handed the check with, I might add, a gratuity added in (I am not sure what the 18% charge was for, though, because it surely wasn't "service"), without the waitress even coming over and asking if anyone would like coffee/tea/dessert. I have never been to ANY restaurant, even a local diner, where the wait staff didn't ask if we wanted anything else or dessert before handing us the check. It is a shame- because when we finally received our dinners, it was apparent that their food is good and we would have returned during the year, but dining out is supposed to also be an enjoyable experience, and their lack of concern for the customers is what stood out!
