What Koshertopia has to say:

Buddha Bodai is the restaurant to fulfill your wildest foreign delicacy desires. The only kosher restaurant in Chinatown, Buddha Bodai serves every authentic Chinese dish imaginable, but with an unconventional twist. The restaurant is completely vegetarian, and all of their "meat" dishes are made out of soy and vegetable root! So there is no need to be alarmed when you see pork and shrimp on the menu. Buddha Bodai is easy to get to, the service is friendly and fast, and there is plenty of seating. When you are in Chinatown, experience the neighborhood at Buddha Bodai.

As originally reviewed by Friend on Kosher-NY:

This place is great. We would certainly go back. This is the cleanest place we have eaten at while visiting NY. Staff is polite and friendly. Food is fantastic! Real authentic chineese food, that tastes like real meat but is vegetarian. There was so much on the menu that we couldn't decide. We asked the staff to suggest a few things. My favourite was the steamed dumplings. My husband loves spicy, so he really liked the General Tsao's Chicken. We paid approx $30 for a dinner for two, and had leftovers for the next day (and we are big eaters). Found this place to be family friendly. I am touring with a baby in a stroller. Staff helped open doors for me. And they offered my baby a fortune cookies while we were waiting for our food to arrive.

This restaurant is REAL Chinese. Very, very different from any kosher Chinese restaurant you have ever eaten in. Plus the atmosphere of the restaurant and the surrounding neighborhood make it a very interesting experience.
